7. SP COD Order Form & Upsell FAQs
1. Do I need to edit my theme code?
No. The app uses a Shopify app embed and theme blocks. You add them in the theme editor, and they’re removed automatically if you uninstall the app.
2. Why isn’t the COD form showing on my store?
Check these settings first:
- The app embed is on. The Dashboard shows a banner if it’s off.
- The SP COD block is added to the page. Check the card status in On-site content.
- The product, the shopper’s country, and the order total match your Eligibility settings.
- The product is in stock.
- Your plan still has COD orders left this month. Check App information on the Dashboard.
3. Will shoppers still be able to use my regular checkout?
Yes, unless you turn on the switch to hide your theme’s buttons in On-site content. Even then, if a shopper or product doesn’t meet your COD rules, your theme’s buttons stay visible.
4. What payment status do COD orders have?
COD orders are created with Payment pending and the payment method Cash on Delivery (COD). Mark the order as paid in Shopify admin after you collect the payment.
5. Does the upsell create a second order?
No. When a shopper accepts the upsell, the product is added to the order they just placed.
6. What happens if a shopper closes the page during the upsell?
The order is already created before the upsell appears, so you keep the order. Only the upsell product isn’t added.
7. Can I show the form on the cart drawer, home page, or collection pages?
You can add the COD button to the product page and cart page yourself. For other places, click Contact support in On-site content, and our team will set it up for your theme.
8. How does the app stop fake orders?
In Settings > Orders & spam, you can limit repeat orders from the same phone number and IP address within 24 hours, and block phone numbers. Blocked shoppers see a general error and no order is created.
9. Can I use the form in a right-to-left language?
Yes. Turn on Right-to-left layout in Form Builder > Advanced. You can edit all form text in Text & messages.
10. What happens when I reach my plan’s monthly order limit?
The COD form stops appearing on your store until your next billing month or until you change your plan. Your theme’s buttons stay visible, so shoppers can still buy through your regular checkout.
