6. Manage COD orders

COD orders appear in Shopify admin > Orders, together with your other orders.

Each COD order has:

  • Payment status Payment pending
  • Payment method Cash on Delivery (COD)
  • The tags you set in Orders & spam
  • Any discount from quantity offers, upsell, or downsell
  • Upsell products added as extra items in the same order

Fulfill COD orders the same way as your other orders. When you collect the payment, mark the order as paid in Shopify admin.

6.1. Place a test order

  1. Open a product page on your store where the COD button is shown.
  2. Click the COD button and fill in the form.
  3. Click the submit button.

Check that the order appears in Shopify admin > Orders with Payment pending. This completes the Place a test order step in Get started. You can cancel the test order in Shopify admin afterwards.
