4. Placement
Placement shows where fees appear in your store and helps you fix anything that is missing. The app checks your live (published) theme only.
Use Open theme editor at the top of the page to open your live theme. When you change the cart drawer options or the Buy it now setting, click Save in the save bar.
Important: If you see Your changes are saved but haven’t reached your store yet, click Try again. Until then, shoppers still see your previous fees.
4.1. Online store
These are blocks you add yourself in the theme editor. They work on every Shopify plan.

To turn on the embed or add a block:
- Click the button on the row: Turn on in theme editor, Add to product page or Add to cart page. The theme editor opens in a new tab with the embed or block ready.
- In the theme editor, click Save.
- Come back to the app and click Refresh status. The app also checks again when you return to the tab.
Important: The app checks the default product template and the cart template only. Add each block once. If a template has the block twice, fees show twice.
4.2. Cart drawer
Cart drawers can’t take app blocks in the theme editor, so our technical team sets up the fee display for you, free. We set it up inside the app and never edit your theme code. Until then, fees show in the drawer as plain cart lines.

To request a setup:
- In Cart drawer, click Contact us.
- Check the Email for updates and, if needed, tell us anything we should know (for example, an upsell app in your drawer).
- Click Send request. It is usually ready within 1 business day, and you see the status on this page.
While a request is open, use Message the team to add details. After it is live, use Request a change.
Under Show in the cart drawer, choose what the drawer shows:
- Optional add-ons under each product, for example “Add 2-year protection”
- Order add-ons, such as gift wrapping or rush processing
- Fee total under the subtotal, which shows when Settings → Cart display → Fees in the cart is set to one fee total or both
4.3. Checkout
Checkout fee block (Shopify Plus)
The Checkout fees block adds payment and delivery fees at checkout and explains them to shoppers.
- Click Add in checkout editor.
- Add the Checkout fees block under Payment, then save your checkout.

Required fee check
Required fee check is a Shopify Function that stops checkout when a required fee is missing, including Buy it now and express checkout. It works on every plan and is on by default. Use Turn off or Turn on to change it. The change saves right away.

If you see Some required fees aren’t checked, the listed fees are too complex for the check. Simplify their conditions or merge similar fees.
4.4. Buy it now
Buy it now and express buttons on the product page skip the cart, so they can skip your fees too. Choose how the app handles them:
