Why isn't the wishlist button showing on my store?

Why isn’t the wishlist button showing on my store?

If shoppers can’t see the wishlist button, the cause is usually one of the settings below. Check them in order.

1. The app embed is turned off

The wishlist only works on your storefront when the MP Wishlist app embed is on.

  • Open MP Wishlist & Favorites. If the Setup Guide shows Enable the app embed without a check mark, click Enable app embed, turn on MP Wishlist in the theme editor, and click Save.
  • If you switched to a new theme, turn on the app embed again in the new theme.

See How to set up MP Wishlist & Favorites.

2. The button is turned off for that page

  • For product pages, go to Settings → Product page and check that Show the button on product pages is on.
  • For collection pages and product grids, go to Settings → Product cards and check that Show the button on product cards is on.

Remember to click Save after any change.

3. Your theme doesn’t support app embeds

MP Wishlist & Favorites works with themes that support app embeds (Online Store 2.0 themes). Older (vintage) themes don’t support app embeds, so the wishlist can’t appear on them. If you’re not sure which type of theme you have, contact our support team.

4. The app can’t find the product’s variant

The button saves a specific variant, such as a size or color. If the page doesn’t tell the app which variant is selected, the button doesn’t show on that product. This can happen with heavily customized product pages.

5. The button shows in a different spot

If the position you chose (for example, On the image) isn’t available in your theme, the app places the button in the default position instead. Try another Button position in Settings → Product page, or run Match with your theme at the bottom of Settings → Appearance. See How to match wishlist buttons with your theme.

6. The shortcut is missing from the header

Some themes don’t have room for an extra icon in the header. Run Match with your theme so the app can find the right spot in your header, or try the Floating placement in Settings → Shortcut.
