How to integrate MP Instagram Feed with MP Wishlist & Favorites
Integrating MP Instagram Feed with MP Wishlist & Favorites adds a wishlist heart to the image of every product tagged in your shoppable feed. Shoppers who like a look but aren’t ready to buy can save the product in one tap, right from the post, and find it later in their wishlist. Instead of leaving and forgetting what they saw, they have a reason to come back.
Before you start
Make sure these are ready on your store:
- MP Instagram Feed is installed, and you already have posts with tagged products.
- MP Wishlist & Favorites is installed and its app embed is turned on in your live theme. Like MP Instagram Feed, it’s free, with every feature included.
- The products you tag are set to show the wishlist button in MP Wishlist & Favorites. If you limit the wishlist button to selected products or collections, the heart only shows on those products.
Note: You don’t need to install MP Wishlist & Favorites first. If it isn’t installed yet, MP Instagram Feed shows you a shortcut to install it (see Step 2 below).
Step 1: Turn on the wishlist heart
#1. In your Shopify admin, go to MP Instagram Feed > Shoppable feed.
#2. In the Product tags section, click Set up on the Product tagging posts card.
#3. Scroll to the Integrations section at the bottom of the page. It lists the apps you can connect to your tagged products. Under Product info, find Wishlist heart. The toggle is off by default, even if MP Wishlist & Favorites is already installed.

#4. Turn on the Wishlist heart toggle. The preview on the right shows a heart on each tagged product image, and the counter at the top of the section updates (for example, 1 of 4 on).
#5. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar at the top.
Step 2: Install MP Wishlist & Favorites
If MP Wishlist & Favorites isn’t installed on your store yet, a warning appears under the toggle: MP Wishlist & Favorites isn’t installed yet, so shoppers can’t see it. The heart shows in the preview, but not on your storefront until the app is installed.

#1. Click Get the app to open MP Wishlist & Favorites on the Shopify App Store.
#2. Install the app.
#3. Turn on the MP Wishlist app embed in your live theme. See How to set up MP Wishlist & Favorites.
Step 3: Customize the wishlist icon in MP Wishlist
Once MP Wishlist & Favorites is installed, the warning is replaced by a note: Icon style, color and position come from MP Wishlist.

MP Instagram Feed only turns the heart on or off. To change how it looks, click Customize the icon to open MP Wishlist & Favorites, then edit the wishlist button there. Your changes apply to the heart in the feed too. See How to customize the wishlist button appearance.
Step 4: Check the wishlist heart on your storefront
#1. Go to your storefront and open the shoppable feed.
#2. Click a post with tagged products. In the Featured products list, each product image shows a heart in the top-right corner.
#3. Click the heart to save the product. The heart fills in to show the product is saved, and the product appears on the shopper’s wishlist page.

Note: If you don’t see the heart, check that MP Wishlist & Favorites is installed, that its app embed is on in your live theme, and that the product is set to show the wishlist button in MP Wishlist & Favorites.
Turn off the wishlist heart
To hide the heart in your feed, turn off the Wishlist heart toggle and click Save. Products already saved stay in your shoppers’ wishlists, and the wishlist buttons on your product pages and product cards keep working as before.
Wrap up
With MP Wishlist & Favorites integrated, every post in your feed can keep a shopper’s interest even when they aren’t ready to buy. One tap saves the product, and the wishlist brings them back to finish the purchase.
