General - Quote ID format

Use this section to customize how quote IDs are generated in the app.

You can configure:

  • Prefix: The text shown before the quote number, such as RFQ- or Q-.
  • Next quote number: The next number the app will use for new quotes.

The preview shows how the quote ID will look before you save the setting. Leave this field blank if you want number-only quote IDs.

General - Quote eligibility

Go to Settings > General > Quote eligibility to configure this section.

Use this section to control which customers can submit quote requests and which countries can access the quote feature.

1. Customer type

Choose who can submit quote requests:

  • All customers (default) – Any visitor can request a quote
  • Selected customers – Restrict access based on:
    • Customer segments
    • Individual customers
    • Email patterns (e.g. *@company.com)

At least one condition must be selected when using Selected customers.

2. Guest quote submissions

  • Checked (default) - a Shopify customer account is created automatically when a guest submits a quote
  • Unchecked - guest info is saved with the quote and can be converted to a customer account later

Note: This setting only applies when using email patterns. If restricted by segment or individual account, guests must log in to submit.

3. Country eligibility

Choose where the quote feature is available:

  • All countries(default): Visitors from any country can access the quote feature.
  • Specific countries: Visitors from any country can access the quote feature.

At least one country must be selected when using Specific countries.

Note:

  • Visitor location is detected using server-side IP geolocation.
  • If a visitor’s location cannot be determined (e.g. VPN or proxy), access is evaluated based on your Customer type settings.
  • Both Customer type and Country eligibility must be satisfied for a quote request to be submitted.

4. Set minimum quote requirements

Use Set minimum quote requirements to control when buyers can submit a quote request.

This setting is turned off by default.

When enabled, buyers must meet your minimum requirement before they can submit a quote.

You can set requirements based on:

  • Minimum total quantity: The total quantity of selected products in the Quote Cart.
  • Minimum quote value: The total quote value in your store currency.

If both requirements are enabled, choose how they should be applied:

  • All: Buyers must meet both requirements.
  • Any: Buyers only need to meet one requirement.

You can also enable a message in the Quote Cart. When buyers do not meet the requirement, the message appears above the submit button and the Send Quote Request button is disabled.

Click Save to apply your changes.

General - Product eligibility

  1. Settings > General > Product Eligibility.
  2. Choose:
    • All products
    • Selected Products & Collections: Use Browse to pick products and collections.
  3. Save.

General - Product information display and Product metafields

Go to Settings → General → Product information display and Product metafields

Use this section to show extra product details below each product across the quote process, including storefront, quote history, admin quote screens, emails, and PDF files.

Enable the product identifiers you want to show:

  • Show SKU: Displays the product SKU below each product.
  • Show Barcode: Displays the product barcode below each product.

Product metafields

Use Product metafields to display custom product information below each product.

For each metafield, enter:

  • Namespace: The metafield namespace, such as custom.
  • Key: The metafield key, such as material.
  • Label: The display name shown to customers and staff, such as Material.

Click + Add metafield to add more metafields.

Click the delete icon to remove a metafield from the display list.

Example: If you enter Namespace custom, Key material, and Label Material, the app will show the product’s material metafield below the product wherever supported.

Click Save to apply your changes.

General - Conversation settings

  1. Settings > General > Conversation Settings.
  2. Enable Allow requesters to attach files.
    • Default is enabled.
    • Limits: up to 10 MB per file, 5 files per message. Allowed: PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, PNG, XLS, XLSX, CSV, TXT.

Use this feature to customize the PDF file sent with your quotes.

How to customize quote PDF

  • Go to Settings → Quote PDF
  • Configure the PDF content and design:
    • Upload your logo
    • Set logo size
    • Choose font and font size
    • Set primary color, text color and product header color
    • Show or hide fields:
      • Quote date
      • Due date
      • Date format (e.g. DD/MM/YYYY)
      • Original Price
      • Unit Price
      • Total
      • Product Image
  • Set file name using variables. Example: Request quote #
  • Use Preview to check layout and content before saving.
  • Click Save to apply your changes.

How it works

  • When you send a quote, the app generates a PDF automatically The PDF is attached to the email sent to the customer
  • The same PDF is used when downloading the quote

Notes:

  • Changes apply to new quotes only, existing quotes will not be updated
  • The PDF template is shared across all quotes

Integrations

SP Request a Quote can integrate with SP Hide Price & Access Control

SP Request a Quote integrates with SP Hide Price & Access Control to support stores that hide prices and use custom or negotiated pricing.

With this integration, you can:

  • Create rules to hide product prices
  • Replace Add to Cart with Request a Quote on the storefront

Customers can submit quote requests normally, and all quotes are managed in the Request a Quote app.

To get started, click Create Hide Price rule to set up your price-hiding conditions.
